Cable pulley systems are typically used for rowing, pulldowns, tricep extensions, bicep curls, and core exercises (like the cable crunch of woodchopping).

Almost any isotonic exercise, as well as variations on the major exercises: presses, hip hinges, core exercises, and rowing or pulling exercises, can be performed.

Squatting and other exercises are more difficult on a cable machine, but with a little ingenuity and the right attachments, they are doable!
