Go Ultra Low Companies hits 100
UK business is embracing an electric future, as new figures show that the Go Ultra Low Companies initiative now has over 100 members signed up. OVO Energy, Oxford City Council, Swansea University, Santander UK and Gatwick Airport are just some of the companies committing to introducing electric vehicles to their fleets.
These companies join a diverse group of organisations covering everything from councils and universities such as Nottingham City Council and Manchester Metropolitan University, public bodies including Transport for London, Cornwall NHS Trust and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, to large companies like Microsoft UK and Britvic.
All companies signed up have stated that EVs will make up at least 5% of their fleet by 2020. Many on the list have ambitions to exceed the 5% target, such as Santander UK which has pledged to ensure that 10% of its fleet is ultra-low emission. Oxford City Council says that 7% of its total fleet will be 100% electric by the end of the decade.
