Cerys Matthews records new song in quiet and refined electric cars

One of the best things about electric cars is their quiet, refined ride. To put this to the test, we decided to record a song in one. We worked with Welsh music icon Cerys Matthews and her band to record her new song Float On Down To Monte Carlo entirely within a collection of electric cars.

Four vehicles – a BMW 225xe, Kia Soul EV,  Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and a Nissan e-NV200 Combi – were turned into mini recording studios. This feat is uniquely achievable in electric vehicles because there is no engine noise, resulting in acoustics that are more conducive to recording sound.

We even shot a music video (with our cars starring) to accompany the new track – you can find this and our behind-the-scenes film below.
